Sourav Kuila graduated from University of Calcutta, India, in Physics in 2010. He completed his PhD in Physics in 2019, from National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India. In PhD, he mainly investigated the magnetic, magnetoelectric, and magnetoresistive properties of multiferroics materials, in particular on core-shell nanoparticles. He developed a home-made liquid Nitrogen based, temperature dependent magnetoelectric measurement setup during his PhD. He worked as a visiting fellow at Central European Institute of Technology, Brno, Czech Republic, (May 2019- Aug 2019), where he deposited metamagnetic (FeRh) thin film and oxide (SrTiO3) thin films on LSAT substrate, using DC magnetron sputtering and pulsed laser deposition (in ultra-high vacuum chamber) methods respectively and studied the magnetic and magneto-optical properties of metamagnetic thin film. After completion of his PhD, he worked as a postdoc fellow at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India (2019 – 2021). Working as a postdoctoral researcher, he studied the magnetic and magnetoresistive behavior of Ni/Si multilayer thin-film, deposited using DC magnetron sputtering. He is also proficient in x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, electrical transport measurement, and data analysis.
