Eleonora Giannotta (1997) graduated in Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology (bachelor’s degree) in 2019 at University of Teramo where she experienced the characterization of Euphorbia characias Ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase / phosphodiesterase enzymes by using bioinformatics databases.
In 2021 she graduated in Health and Environmental Biotechnology (master’s degree) at University of Ferrara conducting a thesis research titled “Study of the effects of brain neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in 2D and 3D cell cultures of murine motor neurons (NSC-34)” at CNR NANOTEC – Institute of Nanotechnology in Lecce deepening the assembly of heat-responsive and based on biopolymer (chitosan) biomaterials (hydrogel). Since July 2022 she is a reseach fellow at the Department of Mathematics and Physics “E. De Giorgi” – University of Salento funded by POC PUGLIA FESR FSE 2014/2020 “RIPARTI” – D.D. n. 159 del 10/06/2022 with the research program “Optimization of lab on chip for phytopathogens monitoring and containment” to develop innovative sensor systems capable to monitor the presence of pathogens with high sensitivity and specificity, but also artificial biomimetic systems as reliable on-chip models of plant diseases to test the efficacy of pesticides.
